Shortfin Mako Sharks

This image of two mako sharks was taken with an underwater pole camera during one of FRD's juvenile shark surveys off the coast of southern California near the Channel Islands. Shortfin mako sharks have been called “the peregrine falcons of the shark world.” Their torpedo-like bodies and biochemistry make these the fastest of all sharks.
