Volunteers planting onshore in Maryland

NOAA partnered with the Alliance for Chesapeake Bay and the U.S. Navy to restore coastal habitat on the the upper St. Mary's River in Maryland. This living shoreline project protected the shoreline from erosion and stabilized it with underwater bay grasses and native wetland plants, which were planted by volunteers.
