Picture by: Unknown Picture taken on: December 4th, 2006
The native oyster was historically found in bays and estuaries along the West Coast. Due to overharvesting, pollution, and development, only small remnant populations remain today. With NOAA support, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians restored native oysters in Yaquina Bay in Oregon.
