Once located, dolphins were humanely captured to obtain medical samples for analyses, either aboard the specially designed Research Vessel “Megamouth” or while the dolphins were still in the water. This study is part of the Natural Resource Damage Assessment for the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and authorized by Scientific Research Permit No. 932-1905-MA-009526.
