This past summer Jay educator Jennifer Daftari participated in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s “Teacher at Sea Program, which included time aboard one of their ships, Oregon II, studying sharks. Her adventure took her into the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico on a shark longline survey. During her time at sea, her students, and many others, got a firsthand account of her day-to-day activities via her online blog. She returned with a boat load of memories to share with her students.
