Whether for import, export, or sold domestically, NOAA’s consumer safety inspectors and officers travel to fishing vessels, processors, and cold storage facilities around the world to evaluate seafood processors and retailers. Seafood safety inspectors regularly receive training at NOAA's National Seafood Inspection Laboratory in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
