Mid Atlantic Fishery Management Council

The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC) is responsible for the creation of management plans for fishery resources (FMPs) in Federal waters off New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.

The following Fishery Management Plans are under SAFMC jurisdiction:

• Atlantic bluefish (1999)
• Atlantic surfclam and ocean quahog (1999)
• Atlantic mackerel, squid and butterfish (1999)
• Summer flounder, scup and black seabass (1999)
• Spiny dogfish (1999)
• Tilefish (2001)
