South Atlantic Fishery Management Council

The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (SAFMC) is responsible for the creation of management plans for fishery resources (FMPs) in Federal waters off the coasts of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and east Florida to Key West.

The following Fishery Management Plans are under SAFMC jurisdiction:

• Snapper/grouper (1999)
• Atlantic coast red drum (1999)
• Atlantic shrimp fishery (1999)
• Atlantic coral, coral reefs, and live/hard bottom habitats (1999)
• Atlantic golden crab (1999)
• Coastal Migratory Pelagics
