Whales, dolphins and more

Media Contacts

Whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals are found throughout U.S. waters. Visit our media contact page to reach our regional Public Affairs Officers.

NOAA Fisheries’ Office of Protected Resources is directed by the Endangered Species Act to protect and assist in the recovery of endangered and threatened marine life, including whales, fish, turtles, and corals, and by the Marine Mammal Protection Act to protect marine mammals like whales, dolphins, seals, and sea lions. We work closely with partners, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, states, and non-governmental partners.
