Nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) provide valuable outreach and education to the public about marine resources and fisheries. Once the public becomes aware of the detrimental effects of illegal fishing, habitat modifications, and killing of sea life, and they learn about our efforts to capture and prosecute violators, they become crucial to enforcement activities.
