Who We Are
Our jurisdiction covers ocean waters between 3 and 200 miles off shore and adjacent to all U.S. states and territories. This jurisdiction includes:
- 3.36 million square miles of open ocean
- More than 95,000 miles of U.S. coastline
- 13 National Marine Sanctuaries and four Marine National Monuments
- High seas and international trade relating to U.S. treaties and international law
To cover this extensive territory, our agents and officers work out of six divisional offices and 53 field offices throughout the United States and U.S. territories. The map below shows our primary jurisdiction.
