Prescott Grant Reporting Requirements for Award Recipients

A semi-annual progress report, final summary report, and financial report are required for all Prescott award recipients.

Please note that if you have received a no-cost extension, you must still submit both a progress report and a financial report, according to the schedule indicating the status of your project.

Progress Reports

Progress reports are due no later than 30 days following each 6-month period of the award and must include the following information:

  1. Grant number
  2. Federal, match, and total amount of the grant
  3. Project title
  4. Grantee (named on award agreement)
  5. Award period
  6. Dates covered by the report
  7. Summary of progress to date, including descriptions of tasks scheduled for the period and accomplished during the period. Please give an explanation of special problems and differences between scheduled and accomplished work.

Final Report

Final reports are due 90 days from the award end date. The final report must cover all work completed during the award period and include the following information:

  1. Grant number
  2. Federal, match, and total amount of the grant
  3. Project title
  4. Grantee (named on award agreement)
  5. Award period
  6. Project objectives and goals
  7. Detailed descriptions of project work plans and work that was completed
  8. Identification of individuals and/or organizations that performed the work and collaborated with the grantee
  9. Details of actual project accomplishments and their significance
  10. List of all biological samples collected and their disposition (if applicable)
  11. Identification and discussion of significant problems or biases that may have resulted in less than satisfactory results
  12. Description of need or any plans for additional work on this project
  13. Description and analysis of the extent to which the project goals and objectives were or were not met
  14. Any explanation of changes to the goals and objectives
  15. Explanation of how the project results have been or will be disseminated
  16. Summary of expenditures by cost category.

Report Submission

Progress and final reports should be submitted via the NOAA Grants Online system. Please note that the recipient's authorized representative will need to approve the report and forward it on to NOAA before it can be reviewed. Costs associated with preparing and submitting progress and final reports are appropriately funded from the grant award during the project period.

Requests for exemption from the requirement for electronic submission, or for use of a different format than those specified above, must be submitted for consideration and approval by NOAA Fisheries no later than 120 days prior to the due date of the final report.

Note: If your funding was delayed, please prepare your Progress Report/Final Report with one of the following statements, as appropriate:

"Although the start date was _______________, funding has not yet been received."


"Although the start date was _______________, funding was not received until ______________."

Financial Reports

Financial reports are due every 6 months and is done using Standard Form 425. These forms are submitted via Grants Online and reviewed by the NOAA Grants Management Division.
