NMFS Announces the Rescheduling of the Manteo, NC Public Hearing for Draft Amendment 6 to the 2006 Consolidated Highly Migratory Species Fishery Management Plan

On January 20, 2015, NMFS published a proposed rule (80 FR 2648) with public hearing dates for Draft Amendment 6 to the 2006 Consolidated HMS FMP.  Amendment 6 considers various management measures for the commercial shark fishery to address ongoing problems.

On February 25, 2015, NMFS announced that the public hearing in Manteo, North Carolina for Draft Amendment 6 to the 2006 Consolidated HMS FMP that was scheduled for February 26, 2015, would be rescheduled due to inclement weather conditions expected for Manteo and surrounding areas.  NMFS is rescheduling the public hearing in Manteo, NC for March 18, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A full list of the remaining public hearings and conference call is provided below (Table 1).
