NOAA Fisheries Announces That the Address of the Protected Species Safe Handling, Release and Identification Workshop Being Held in Manahawkin, NJ on March 1, 2016 Has Been Changed

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) requires that shark and swordfish limited access permit holders who fish with longline or gillnet gear attend and become certified at Protected Species Safe Handling, Release, and Identification workshops in order to renew or transfer either a shark limited access and/or a swordfish limited access permit (71 FR 58057; October 2, 2006).  Vessel operators are required to possess on board the vessel valid workshop certificates for both the vessel owner and operator at all times.  These workshops are conducted monthly at various locations along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts.  The dates and locations of the workshops are announced quarterly through publication of a notice in the Federal Register, letters to affected permit holders, and an e-mail notice to subscribers of “Atlantic HMS News.” 

This is to announce that the address of the Protected Species Safe Handling, Release, and Identification Workshop being held in Manahawkin, NJ on March 1, 2016, has been changed.

The Date Remains:                         March 1, 2016

The Time Remains:                        9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
