Booking Your Stay
The Westin Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia is the official hotel and meeting space for the 2014 Summit. For reservations, please call the Westin reservation line at (703) 253-8600 and be sure to mention that you are part of the NOAA Recreational Fisheries Summit room block. The deadline for reserving your room is Friday, February 21.
For those traveling to region as registered attendees, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will reimburse you for lodging at the Westin for two nights (March 31 and April 1). Allowances may be made for a third night for those making extended distance flights. Please contact Danielle Rioux for more information about special allowances. For reimbursement, please review the guidelines and submit the completed form, along with your receipts to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission.
Getting to the Westin Alexandria
Reagan National Airport is the closest airport to Alexandria. Both Dulles and Baltimore-Washington International airports also service the area and can be substantially less expensive. A shuttle runs regularly from Reagan National airport to the Westin. The hotel is also metro accessible from Reagan National Airport along the Yellow Line. Attendees are responsible for transportation costs including airfare, metro, taxi, or rental car.
In and Around Alexandria
The Westin hotel is located near the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Within walking distance or a short drive of the hotel are a diversity of restaurants and shops. Although the Summit agenda will keep you busy, there will be opportunities to explore the area. Breakfast on the first day and lunch for both days will be provided onsite, allowing you an opportunity to sample some of the local dining options.
